Yesterday, a man who lives down my block told my wife that she needed to "repent, and be ready for the end of the world in May 2011". This follower of Harold Camping seemed to believe that this date is really the end. Can you even imagine?
Harold Campings heresies are too many to be listed here, but this false teacher needs to answer to God on his judgement day.
Isaiah 29:13-14
Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work
Among this people,
A marvelous work and a wonder;
For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

As Jenny and I returned from our 2nd Peter Precepts Bible study about false teachers,we encountered one of our neighbors.
After coming out from the bottom of his car very frustrated, and damning to hell the the car maker for making an easy issue nearly impossible without bringing the car in for service, this 30 year self proclaimed Harold Camping follower proceeded to shout loudly that May 21, 2011 is the day the Lord will return. When he saw the look of shock on our faces (this is the first time we heard this man shout without including the *f* word in a sentence), he proceeded to tell us that he did not care if we believed that date was correct, and to remind us about the time of the flood where people did not believe either. We came away from this encounter very unsettled because this false teacher who believes he can live sensually at all other times was now proclaiming the end was near, cheapening the Truth of the matter, Jesus IS coming soon. This man should open the Word of God instead of hanging on every word from Harold Camping.
Christians need to go over the supply list in 2nd Peter 1 to make sure they are in the faith as the time draws near......deb <*)))><
